Overview

What Elements Casino Surrey actually is

Elements Surrey is included here for completeness rather than as a recommendation for a trip. It is a competent 45,000-square-foot floor serving South Surrey and the surrounding communities, with around 750 slot machines, 35 tables, a restaurant, a lounge and free parking.

There is no hotel, no theatre, no poker room and no view. What there is: some of the lowest table minimums in Metro Vancouver, a floor that is comfortable rather than crowded, and staff who deal with the same faces every week.

For a visitor to the region, this is a floor to drop into rather than plan around. For anyone based in Surrey or Langley it is a reasonable local option — and there is no dishonesty in the proposition, which is more than can be said for some larger places.

The casino floor

Slot machines, table games and the high roller rooms

Around 750 slot machines make up the bulk of the floor, a mix of current and older cabinets with a small progressive selection. Denominations run low and the high-limit slot area is a corner rather than a room.

Roughly 35 table games cover blackjack, roulette, baccarat and a handful of carnival card games. Minimums are the lowest of any Metro Vancouver property on most nights, which makes this a viable place to learn a table game without committing much money.

No poker room, no meaningful sportsbook and no VIP salon. Professional dealers are relaxed and helpful; the pit is small enough that a newcomer will not be lost in it.

Rooms, amenities and how the property lives

No accommodation on site. Surrey City Centre and the Guildford area carry chain hotels within ten minutes' drive at rates well below Vancouver, and the SkyTrain Expo Line reaches Surrey in around forty minutes from downtown.

In practice, nobody should build a stay around this property. If you are in the area it is a convenient evening; if you are not, there is no reason to travel for it.

Dining

Restaurants and bars

A single main restaurant plus a lounge and a coffee counter. Fair pricing, unremarkable food, adequate for a break in play. Surrey has a substantial and genuinely good South Asian restaurant scene a few minutes away that is far more worth your evening than anything in the building.

Entertainment

Shows, venues and what happens after dinner

A lounge with occasional live music and screens for major fixtures. There is no venue and no programme to speak of. The property does not claim otherwise.

Two days here

How we would spend the stay

  • Evening, early

Eat in Surrey first — the South Asian restaurants along the King George corridor are the reason to be in this part of the region.

  • Evening, main

An hour or two at the tables, where the minimums are the lowest in Metro Vancouver.

  • Evening, late

Back into Vancouver on the Expo Line, or a room in Surrey City Centre at half the downtown rate.

Assessment

Pros and cons

What works

  • The lowest table minimums in Metro Vancouver
  • Free parking and a floor that is never overwhelming
  • Genuinely good South Asian restaurants a few minutes away
  • Honest about what it is

What does not

  • No hotel, no poker room, no theatre, no VIP room
  • Ageing slot mix and a small floor
  • Effectively car-only, with no walkable surroundings
Verdict

Our conclusion

A local floor, reviewed for completeness. Elements Surrey is cheap, comfortable and easy, and nothing about it justifies a journey. If you are already in the Fraser Valley and want an unhurried couple of hours at a low-limit table, it does that job well.
